Marlin Sized Mess

I do not think that most people in baseball were surprised at all that Marlins fired Fredi Gonzalez last week. It actually seemed like it was fairly inevitable that the two were going to split ways at the end of the year anyways. The Marlins owner Jeffery… Continue

Who should go where and why in NBA free agency

The biggest story in the NBA the past two seasons has not been the Lakers wining back to back championships, heck the biggest story hasn't even involved any games at all. No the biggest story has been the free agency class of 2010 and where guys like LeBron, Wade, and Chris Bosh would end up. Teams like the Knicks and the Heat have been dumping salary like crazy in hopes of signing not one but 2 or may be 3 of the biggest stars in the NBA. So now with free agency period starting less then a… Continue

Football Coverage

These last two 7 on 7 events were covered so well. Your staff has players highlighted so much that there has to be opportunities opening up for college football. The talent is incredible here in our own back yard. Happy Father's Day to all the proud football dads.

Kobe Bryant is Great, but he is Not the Greatest.

Before I get into the heart of this blog let me just congratulate the Los Angles Lakers for there 16th championship and I believe surpassing the Boston Celtics in as the most historic franchise in the NBA ( may have one fewer title, but has played in 10 more championships). Also to Doc Rivers who says that his team has yet to have a real chance to defend there crown because of injuries, the Lakers have yet to play a game against you in the finals with a healthy Andrew Bynum so be… Continue

Texas Ending Conference Realignment Talks...for now

With a deal that will give Texas the largest television contract in college sports, beating Notre Dame by and expected $10 million, the Big 12 has been able to hold off its own extinction. With Texas decision to stay, it also keeps it 4 little brothers in the Big 12 as well (Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma St.), and it has also prevented total chaos in college sports. The teams that are moving are Nebraska to the Big Ten, Boise St. to the Mountain West, and Utah and… Continue

What About Us? : The Big East's non-Football School

The top story in sports the over the past few months has been what is going to be the final outcome when conference realignment is over and done with. Who is going where? What about super conferences? What conferences are going to be around when it all over with? In my last blog entry I said my thoughts on what things will look like when its all said and done, and it would look like this:…

Texas, The Biggest of Five Schools who will Decide College Footballs Fate

Well the first two dominos in conference realignment have fallen but the biggest one of them all remains teetering. The fate of college football now remains on what the University of Texas will do in the next few weeks. If Texas decides to stay in the Big 12 then the changes on the college football landscape will be minimal. The Big Ten will add Nebraska, Pac 10 gets Colorado and will most likely add Utah as well, and that will leave the Big 12 looking to add two new…
