January 16,2017,

When it comes to the area that produces the most Nfl talent numbers don’t lie when you speaking of South Florida. But if you want to narrow things down a bit, Miami-Dade & Broward County are doing numbers. With all those fun facts being proven it’s easy to see why when you begin to watch how competitive Youth Football is in South Florida. So, for the 2nd year in a row the Miami Dolphins powered by Generation NexXt has put together one of the most competitive All-star games in the country pitting Dade Counties best versus Broward Counties best from ages 8 years old to 14 years old. From Boca to Florida City the counties best would get to compete for bragging rights on which County is the best and get to  prove it between the hashes.

Offensive Standouts

Name: Elijah “ Just Chill” Hardy

Position: RB

Team: Miami Gardens Chiefs 8u

Skinny:

No stranger to the big stage or the bright lights Elijah is arguably the best 8-year-old in the country, the quiet mild manner youngster is a defensive nightmare to any defensive coordinator or defender. On an end and around handoff “ Just Chill” showed off his entire repertoire as a Rb with vision, patience, speed and a nose for the end zone on a sensational 24 yard touchdown run to seal the game for his Dade County team. Never confuse this kid with just being one dimensional, what makes this phenom the best is his ability to affect the game equally on the defensive side of the ball. Now that’s what I call a complete Football player.

Name: Kamari “ Green shoes” Morrison

Position: Rb

Team: Palmetto Raiders 85’s

Skinny:

Talking about making the most of your opportunities is simply what the kid fans call “Green shoes” did. On Kamari first touch of the game you could clearly see this kid was playing at another speed, yep track speed as he left opponents in the dust on a 41-yard touchdown run. One thing is for sure watching this kid you will learn if you don’t protect the edge you’ll liable to get burnt.

Name: Brandon Innis

Position: Wr

Team: Ppo Bengals 12u

Skinny:

Many consider Brandon to be one of the top players in the country on the 12u level, funny thing is Brandon plays up and is a true 11-year-old. We all wondered what would Brandon look like against his age group and Saturday we found out. With 3 touchdowns on three receptions this kid was absolutely unstoppable and a man amongst boys. It’s safe to say Brandon Innis has his name in the hat as the top 11u player in the country the film doesn’t lie……...

Name: Blake Murphy

Position: Qb

Team: Plantation Wildcats 11U

Skinny:

Ever since this kid made the move to the Plantation Wildcats 11u his stock has been soaring with every performance I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Saturday Blake set the tone on the offensive side of the ball, this field general was calm, composed & deadly all in the same sense. Blake was on fire making all the throws and correct reads throwing the stitches off the ball with pin point spirals hitting receivers in stride to the tune of two touchdown passes while also running for one. Watching this kids growth as a Quarterback over the years it’s safe to say were looking at one of the best doing it in his age group and it’s no secret to the rest of the country.

Name: D’ Shawn Trowers

Position: RB

Team: Ppo Bengals 12U

Skinny:

There’s always a kid that makes a name for themselves out of nowhere in this Miami Dolphins Dade vs Broward All Star game. That kid this year is D’Shawn Trowers a big play RB with knack for breaking off big runs with his ability to make the right read with sharp cuts exploding thru narrowest of holes. Trowers makes you hold your breath just about every time he touches the ball thinking he could just about score on any carry. One thing for sure this kid is no longer slept on after Saturdays performance.

Name: Yulkeith Brown Jr.

Position: RB

Team: Liberty City Warriors ( Jr. Varsity )

Skinny:

Football is a game of momentum and down 18-0 Dade County offense didn’t kick into gear until Yulkeith put the team on his back. Showing off an extra gear from the defenders pursuing him Yulkeith would put one foot in the dirt with the ability to get skinny in between the tackles Yul would pile up over 65 yards rushing on one drive. Dade County would score 12 unanswered points you could attribute the offensive boost to Yulkeith who refused to be stopped getting stronger with every carry with his smooth slashing style of running he proved hard to contain all day.

Name: Hezekiah Harris

Position: QB

Team: Deerfield Packer Rattler 11u

Skinny:

Broward County 11u All Stars put on an offensive clinic you can say strong Quarterback play was the difference. Hezekiah Harris was the 2nd Qb in the game for Broward 11u All stars and let’s just say it was his time to shine, the Deerfield Packer Rattler connected with his receiver for a touchdown where he showed off excellent pocket presence. Harris continued his strong play with some nice throws helping lead the Broward All Stars to 36 point victory on the day.

Name: Xavier Irvin

Position: WR

Team: Overtown Tornadoes ( Jr.PeeWees )

Skinny:

No matter what the scoreboard says talent is always on display especially when that player refuses to quit and continues to play hard no matter the circumstances. Xavier Irvin is a very skilled deadly receiver with the playmaking aptitude of Odell Beckham who happens to be his favorite player. This kid made play after play with his crisp ran routes finding holes in the secondary and catching everything in his radius. Be on the lookout for this kid it defiantly won’t be the last you hear from this star on the rise.

Name: Kahlil Brantley

Position: WR

Team: Doral Academy

Skinny:

Standing 6”2 Kahlil knows how to use his frame like a power forward when it comes getting after the ball, this kid is jumping out the gym I might add. Kahlil lead his Dade County team in Touchdown receptions & catches showing off his skills on short & deep passes. With D-1 size already it’s safe to say this kid is well on his way to a bigtime High School career at Doral Academy.

Name: Jacorey Brooks

Position: WR

Team: Overtown Tornadoes 14u

Skinny:

Call this kid instant impact because he showed the entire Traz Powell Stadium he was arguably the best player on the field with only 3 touches he scored on two of those touches.  Jacorey is the number 2# ranked Receiver in the country and proved it, with two catches for 98 yards receiving coming up 5 yards short on of what could’ve been easily two touchdown receptions. If what he did on offense wasn’t impressive this kid jumped a slant route for a pick 6, remember the name because this kid looks to be a future 5-star recruit.

Name: Brody Palhegyi

Position: QB

Team: Plantation Wildcats

Skinny:

This kid showed me the resilience of someone twice his age with the ability to improvise as if he was a Johnny Manziel clone. Brody made play after play evading the rush, one play that sticks out was when avoiding three defenders Brody kept his head up and found his receiver in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown. Something you can never teach or coach and that is heart and this kid has it.

Name: Donovan Jones

Position: RB

Team: Ppo Bengals

Skinny:

Donovan has a jump slide cut that allows him to break diving arm tackles in the open field, turning medium-length gains into monster plays. He also has nice lateral movement that allows him to quickly bounce runs outside the tackles, Donovan was a bright spot for his Broward team bringing his A game pressing the defense on each carry he possessed the ball.

Name: Cedquan Smith

Position: QB

Team: Miami Gardens Chiefs 13/14u

Skinny:

Cedquan possesses a lot of the tools to make him one of South Florida’s next hot Quarterback prospect, one thing you will notice when you’re watching this kid throw the ball is he can make all the throws effortlessly. Cedquan made few mistakes and when he was locked in the defense was at his mercy which resulted in 3 touchdown passes and a 38 point explosion from his Dade County 14u.

Name: Zuberi “Popalu” Mobley

Position: RB

Team: Miami Gardens Chiefs 13/14u

Skinny:

If you’re looking for lightening in the bottle look no further than Zuberi, from the opening kickoff to his 21-yard touchdown scamper this kid proved to be a treat to watch. Zuberi was huge in two phases of the game special teams where he had 2 returns for a combined 79 yards setting his Dade county team up with awesome field possession. Not to be out done on the ground the kid who goes by the name of “Popalu” rushed for over 40 yards on the ground reaching the end zone once on the day, if you sleeping on this kid time to wake up because he has arrived.

Name: King Davis

Position: RB

Team: Ppo Bengals 10u

Skinny:

The saying goes “Sometimes it’s just in your blood”, Well King Davis is the younger brother of Ppo Great Willie Davis and that saying proves to be true describing the two Running-backs. Broward County 10u All Stars set the tone early behind the strong tough running of King Davis who showed it will take more than arm tackles to bring him down, oops did I mention this kid showed off his wheels to take it the distance for their 1st score as well. Never to be confused with big brother the Young King is writing his own story and so far, is proving to be very impressive.

Name: Zion Turner

Position: QB

Team: Liberty City Warriors ( Jr. varsity )

Skinny:

If I was just writing top standouts for the 1st half of the game, then I’d probably wouldn’t be adding Zion Turner to this list. But since Football is a game of two halves I’d be a fool to not mention this kids gritty performance. Seeming rattled and a little bit off the 1st half Zion Turner was a new guy 2nd half almost leading his team to a come from behind win. Turner showed guts standing firm in the pocket delivering darts to his receivers with his cannon of an arm tossing a bigtime touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone.  Turner was hotter than fish grease the 4th quarter while he came up short on the comeback but huge on heart & guts this kid is a gamer with a bright future ahead of him.

Name: Reevelinho Leocal

Position: RB

Team: Miami Gardens Ravens 10u

Skinny:

Generation Nexxt skills competition 2016 fastest young kid challenge went to Reevelinho Leocal who showed last July he has an extra gear that makes him the fastest kid in his age group. Saturday Reevelinho was a blur in between the tackles & around the corner, this kid brought balance to his team’s aerial assault to the tune of 9 carries for 70 yards rushing. Far more than just speed Leocal has the footwork, agility & vision to make him a defenses focal point for years to come.

Name: Makhari Tucker

Position: QB

Team: Little River Saints ( Mighty Mites )

Skinny:

Sometimes tomorrows Stars arrive sooner than you expect, case in point Makhari Tucker arrival on the scene after Saturdays performance. Rave reviews all practice week leading up to the game from the likes of High School Coaching Legend 3-time State Champ & 1 time National Champ Miami Booker T. Washington Head Coach Tim “Ice” Harris. Game day arrived and this kid didn’t disappoint sharp & accurate with the poise of someone twice his age, this kid found his groove and completed passes whenever his number was called. A penalty wiped away Makhari’s only touchdown pass but it certainly didn’t take away from his coming out party leading his 9u Dade team to a victory over the Broward All Stars. Stamp this kid as the next to blow, with so many things that could go wrong in an All Star setting Makhari Tucker shine the brightest on the big stage.

Name: Darrius “Boobie”Johnson

Position: RB

Team: Miami Gardens Ravens 9u

Skinny:

If you haven’t known about this kid Darrius “Boobie” Johnson you’ve most likely have been living up under a rock. You talking about a big play waiting to happen just put the play in his hands and watch him explode out of his jump cuts and hit 5th gear thru your secondary on his way to 6 points for his team. Saturday was no different Boobie near loses into huge gains with his signature jump cuts slashing thru the defense like a surgeon going to work for over 75 yards rushing on the day. It’s easy to see why this kid has scored more than 40 touchdowns the last couple of seasons after Saturdays big game performance.
