After reading we got to digging and came to find out there was alot more information scattered on the Web to help us Figure out why the numbers were so unevenly distributed, and down right shocking at times.

Although there are sources like http://athlonsports.com/college-football/recruiting-ranking-most-ta..., Who track the Top Athletes who were ranked by ESPN but , we were only interested in hearing about the lot of athletes. we narrowed our search to 4 Categories

4 Categories,

  1. Total Number of D1 Football Players Per state: Total Recruit Rank  (Red)
  2. Total Number of NFL Players from  Given State: NFL Placement  (Yellow)
  3. College Football Player and Total Population Ratio many players vs how many people: Rank Per Cap  (Beige)
  4. High School Rank- We took the Top 500 Rated High Schools in the country and set a ranking per state based on amount of schools who ranked in the top 500 Nationally, and their placement: High School Rank  (Green)

We then added up the Scores With Total Number being most important, NFL placement being second most important, Rank Per Cap 3rd, and High School Rank of least importance.

In Order to Find the Answers we were seeking we took to the web,

Total recruit answer - came by way of 2013 Article done by Football study Hall in 2013

Check it out here Football Study Hall also Answered another question that we thought was suitable Ranking Per Capita What they did was take the yearly average recruit numbers for the last six years and compared it to the average population over that same time frame.

We then had to do a little digging ourselves to find the Best High school football Play in the Nation, for that went to  Max Preps the Leader in High school Football information, and coverage. HERE we found their High school Football Rankings and Took the Top 500 into account, we set a ranking based on Amount school to rank in the top 500, and the placement of those schools on the list.

Then it only made sense to find out How many Elite Players we had per State meaning how many eventually go to the NFL, for that answer we consulted the NFL, and a 2015 article by USA Today See Article here Which gave us insight on where the NFL players are located!! After Calculating That we were able to turn in a ranking based on how many NFL players each state has!

After Calculating All the rankings we calculated an Overall Ranking Per State based on how they stacked up in the 4 Categories..

Check out this chart From Football Study Hall! since they Stress The importance of Players Per Capita we thought we would add that to our Categories of interest

The results are in Check the Chart Below
